Before recommendation engines, the web was a mix of handmade links. A webring works this way: every site points to the next one, allowing you to hop from page to page in a loop and keep discovering for as long as you want.
The ring is for the SRM community, a crowd of students building portfolios, writing blogs, and tinkering with side projects between classes and assignments. One site connects to another, and before you know it, you've met half the campus.
There's no algorithm deciding what you see and no feed to scroll. Just a circle of links, maintained by hand, that moves from one student's site to the next.
